I love creating word search puzzles for every special occasion, and autumn was the only one missing from our collection. So, I created this free printable Fall Word Search to celebrate the best season of the year!
With it, your kids will be able to relax, have a hot drink, and get those brains to work. In fact, word searches have been shown to help children develop problem-solving and analytical skills, expand vocabulary, and improve concentration.
Of course, you can use it at home or in the classroom and even prompt your students to write a story with the words in this puzzle.
It is also a great printable to have in your car or in your purse for when your kids get a little bored and need something quick to do.
Printable Fall Word Search
This autumn word search puzzle has 20 fall words that need to be found, which is ideal for kids in grades 3 and up.
This game has a medium difficulty level as the words are hidden vertically, horizontally, and diagonally (forward and backward).
To play, all you have to do is download your word search at the bottom of this post and print it on regular white paper.
You can also laminate your word search if you want to reuse it next year without reprinting it.
Then, simply hand the game to your kids along with some coloring pencils or highlighters and let them find the words at their own pace.
The autumn-themed words included are:
If you are working with a big group, you can also turn this game into a little competition and pick the winner according to who finds the most words in a certain amount of time or who finds all the words first.
